What is the Media's Effect on Female Body Image?

Here is a link to an Economist article which discusses recent developments in the European Debt Crisis. Specifically, the article focuses on the ongoing issues in Greece regarding austerity measures. It notes that while changes have been relatively successful in countries such as Spain, Italy, and Ireland, further crisis in Greece could lead to broader failure of countries in the Euro. Additionally, the article looks at the impact of populist politics which have and are actively threatening to undermine progress.

Hey Delegates! Only a few short weeks until we are finally all in New York debating Topics A and B. I hope you all are just as excited as we are, and I cannot wait to meet you all in person.

Until then, I hope you are all keeping up with the current climate of economic growth in one of our main areas of focus: Southeast Asia. Relevant to Topic A, this article explains how the explosive growth in India's economy has allowed job opportunities to numerically rise, and therefore for the quality of jobs available to come up in concurrence.

Drug Legalization in Central America?

I hope you are all satisfied with your position papers. Starting today, I will be reading over your papers and seeing all of your research and hard work.

On Tuesday, a report by Fox News detailed the political push for drug legalization in South America. This is certainly controversial and is being discussed in many South American states as a way to undermine the drug cartels and the black market economy. At the same time, this requires tight governmental control and regulation, which is difficult, especially for developing countries.
