Conference is 1 month away! - UNDP

Conference:
NHSMUN 2012

Hi Delegates,

Charles here. I hope you guys are busy researching and working on your position papers. I just started second semester and that means we are even closer to NHSMUN!

UNDP--3rd post--chemical waste management

Conference:
NHSMUN 2012

Hey guys,

It's your assistant director here, Noor Ali. I am immensely excited about this year's conference! Only 33 days left! Woot Woot! I hope you've all been researching and are almost done cranking out those fabulous position papers. Anyways, I have some links to share with you guys.

These links are about illegal methods of getting rid of chemical waste. Do note the dates of these articles. The first article is just three days old and the second one was written today. This comes to show this is happening NOW. So keep this in mind when writing your position paper on this topic.

UNDP - 2nd Post - Civic Engagement

Conference:
NHSMUN 2012

What’s up guys?

It’s Charles again. You guys will get to hear from Noor in the next blog. This week I’m going to give you two links about recent news regarding civic engagement.

The first link is an article titled “How a Civic Engagement Campaign Saved Ecuador’s Biggest City”. Guayaquil, the largest city in Ecuador, has seen major improvements in infrastructure since 1992. This article shows how improvements in public infrastructure affect more than just the physical aspects of a city.

Welcome to UNDP - first blog post

Conference:
NHSMUN 2012

Hello Delegates,

I hope you enjoyed the welcome video. I am really excited for this year’s conference and I can’t wait until March. Noor Ali, your assistant director, and I will use this blog keep in contact with you and provide updates, general information, and ideas that you can use to write your position papers and to prepare for debate.

Before I bring up the topic of our first blog post I would like to reiterate what I previously said in the background guide. Please feel FREE to contact me with any questions you may have up until committee starts at undp.nhsmun@imuna.org.

Welcome to UNDP!

1. Welcome to UNDP at SUSMUN 2011!

Conference:
SUSMUN 2011

Dear Delegates,

It is our sincere pleasure to welcome you to SUSMUN 2011! We would like to briefly introduce you to the dais staffers of UNDP, Kate Nielsen and Alexandria Gilbert.

Kate Nielsen
Kate is a fourth-year at the University of South Carolina majoring in Economics. She participated in Model UN extensively during high school, including SUSMUN's sister conference, NHSMUN, for four years. As Kate prepared the background guide for this committee, she is obviously very excited and knowledgeable about this year's topics and looks forward to seeing you all debate them soon.

Freegypt! A DAY WHICH WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY!! (and 3 days until position papers are due!) (Post 13)

Conference:
NHSMUN Committee

February 11th, 2011 - Today, Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak has resigned and handed over power to the Supreme Council for the Armed Forces. Although what the future holds for this country is unclear, I have to say that I am truly inspired by what people are capable of. People do have the power to make great changes (good or bad).

On other news, there's a big deadline next week - position papers are due! Whooooo! I'm so excited to read the fruits of all of your research.

What's going on?! UNDP in Egypt (Post 11)

The protests against the government that are currently going on in Egypt are just mind-blowing.
