Andorra is a landlocked European country, nestled in the Pyrenees mountains between Spain and France. Andorra has an approximate population of 85,000, and an area of 468 square kilometers. It is unique in that it is the only country governed by a co-monarchy, called the co-princes. One is the president of France, and the Bishop of Urgell. The heads of state act in concert with the elected government. Andorra declined to become a member of the European Union, but uses the euro as its currency. Andorra’s economy is supported primarily by banking ( it is an official tax-haven), and tourism.
