The country of Montenegro (literally translated, the Black Mountain) is located in the Balkan region of eastern Europe. it was once part of the former Yugoslavia and the Sate Union of Serbia and Montenegro, finally Gaining its independence on 28 June 2006. Its neighboring countries are Serbia, Kosovo, Albainia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovinia. The current government is a functioning republic and the country has a population of about 650,000 people.
